Tell us About Your Business Complete the form to tell us a bit more about you business or organisation. We will call you to have a chat about you business and your website and to find out more about what you need your site to achieve.
Choose a Design Choose from the main design templates - think about how many main sections you need as these will be in the menu across the top. As a rule, the fewer the better as it's easier for your users to find information. Decide whether to have a logo or just your organisation name as text. Choose whether you want the menu to "fold under" so that it is always visible when people scroll down the page or whether it should disappear when people scroll. We'll talk you through the options over the phone.
Colours and Fonts What colours would you like to use.? You can choose main heading colours along with text colours and menu drop downs. Do you want a specific font? Let us know.
Name the Main Section Headers and Drop Down Pages Plan your website sections. The main sections are in the menu and are visible all the time. For example on this website there are 6 main sections HOME / PACKAGES / SETTING UP / FEATURES / GENERAL / CONTACT. Under some of these are other pages - they are shown in a drop down list. Complete the form to tell us your pages and sections names.
Gather images to use Email us your logo as a JPEG. You may already have images that you want to use on the website. If you don't remember that most smartphone camera's takes great quality photo's. So don't be afraid to take some pictures of your business, local area - or you working! You can source photo's from image libraries quite cheaply - average £5-£7 per image. You will not own the photo but it will give you the right to use it.
Write some text for the pages Write a small amount of text for each page - most users struggle to read pages with too much text. Break it up with headings. Write short sharp sentences to get key points across. If you need help, let us know. We offer a copywriting service for an additional fee.
We Publish the SIte to a Test Server Once we have the design sorted and text and images in the site, we publish it to a test server. So it looks like the real web site but it's not live to the outside world. This is the time to look at the site in detail and change things if you need to. It's at this point that you pay for your annual hosting costs and we do the last things like add footers to the site. We call you to talk you through logging in to the site and making basic changes and get you up and running with your site.
Go Live When you and your website are ready, we link your domain the website and then publish your site to the outside world. You have full access to your website to update and change whenever you need. You can access our help section to get step by step instructions on how to manage the site, add text etc.
